Regulations
The
following set of rules are mandatory - all users must adhere to
posted information while using the chat network.

TO ALL USERS
POTTERCHAT.NET ENFORCES A STRICT ZERO-TOLERANCE POLICY
FOR SELECTED ITEMS ON THIS LIST. VIOLATORS OF SELECT
PROVISIONS ARE SUBJECT TO AN IMMEDIATE SERVER BAN.
VIOLATORS WILL BE
KICKED FROM ROOM (FIRST OFFENSE), KICKED FROM CHAT
(SECOND OFFENSE), BANNED FROM CHAT (THIRD OFFENSE),
BANNED BY IP (FOURTH OFFENSE), BANNED FROM USING SERVICE
INDEFINITELY (FIFTH OFFENSE) |
Abuse
of service
Using the
chat service to abuse any part of this network is strictly
prohibited. In addition, illegal activities will result in the
involvement of appropriate law enforcement agencies.
Advertising
The posting of appropriate links to other websites is
permitted on a limited basis (once per session). Excessive posting
of links and/or the posting of an inappropriate link is considered a
violation of these rules.
Capital letters
Typing a message entirely in capital letters is
considered shouting and is disrespectful to other users. This is
prohibited at all times while using the chat network.
Flooding
Strictly prohibited, flooding consists of the sending
of four or more messages consecutively. Because flooding is
considered a form of spam, an automatic flooding filter is
automatically imposed on all messages sent through this chat
network.
Harassment
The harassing of other users (sexual, religious,
racial, etc.) is strictly prohibited in any form. Violators will be
immediately banned upon the first offense.
Language use
Use of offensive language, considered rude to other
users, is prohibited while using this chat network.
Network
disruption/damage
Using the chat service to disrupt or damage any part
of this network is strictly prohibited. Any attempt to deface any
part of this network will result in the immediate referral to law
enforcement agencies.
Private rooms/messages
Private
rooms/messages are still part of this chat network and therefore,
moderators reserve the right to monitor any messages sent via
private messages and in private rooms.
Sharing of files, etc.
For
security reasons, the sharing of files and other media is disabled
by default for all users. Any attempts to exploit this restriction
will result in referral to appropriate law enforcement agencies.
Spam (in messages,
etc.)
Distribution of any spam-related content (messages,
files, etc.) is strictly prohibited on this chat network.
Spam-related issues will be dealt with appropriately, however, we
reserve the right to involve appropriate law enforcement agencies in
these cases.
Usernames
Please
keep all usernames appropriate for all audiences. Inappropriate
words, phrases, and content is prohibited in all usernames on the
chat network.
NETWORK SECURITY AND CENSORSHIP POLICY
PLEASE NOTE THAT ANY CONTENT/MESSAGES SENT THROUGH THE
CHAT SERVICE MAY BE MONITORED AT ANY TIME. WE RESERVE
THE RIGHT TO CENSOR CONTENT DEEMED ILLEGAL OR
INAPPROPRIATE IN ORDER TO ENSURE A SAFE CHAT
ENVIRONMENT. |
